It looks like the American population and Russia has put the warmongering creatures Obama and Kerry in their place.
Without proof and popular/international support their hasty plans for another illegal war based on lies went awry.
After Putin’s op-ed article in the NYT, Hairy Kerry, Obummer and other assorted and unrepentant congress critters have been hitting the airwaves trying to clean off some of the mud they were dragged through by Russia by whining and falsely accusing Russia of not pursuing the path to peace like the US wanted.
But if memory serves me correctly (and it does), I recall for two years now it was the US warmongers who were hell-bent on violence.
It was the US which from the beginning called for unilateral, unreasonable and illegal methods to end the Syrian crisis.
US UN ex-representative Susan Rice-now Samantha Power, Obummer, KILLary Clinton and now Kerry have from the beginning called for a UN resolution which puts all the blame for the violence and unrest in Syria on Bashar Al Assad, demanded military action, that Assad step down “immediately” and now accused the Syrian government of gassing its own people, without any evidence to back it up and against plain logic.
Add to that, the US has supported Al Qaeda-linked fanatic militants in Syria, both domestic and foreign, with weapons and training.
On the contrary, it was Russia which from the beginning has called for a negotiated solution to the crisis. It asked the Syrian government, rebels and the US to cease fighting and convene a conference to resolve the unrest through negotiations.
It was Russia who more than a year ago announced that it was ready to stop the sale of arms to Damascus, and back a total arms embargo on Syria at the UN, if the US and its allies stopped the flow of arms to the rebels, in order to force both sides to negotiate.
It was Russia who a week ago brokered a deal which would see Syria hand over and eliminate its CW stockpiles, while the rabid White House screamed for war.
So which side has been for peace and which for violence?
Furthermore, the argument that Russia is only looking out for its own interests in Syria as far as weapons sales and its Tartus naval base goes, and does not really care about the Syrian people, is not credible, as any so-called argument coming out of Washington against Syria has been.
Why? Because we are not seeing Russia exploiting the unrest in US-backed autocracies in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Qatar to form and arm rebel movements which want to overthrown those governments and end up causing violence and death on a mass scale, in order to further Russian geopolitical interests and kick the US out of the Mideast as the US certainly plans to kick out Russia.
It is clear that those who are calling for an attack on Syria are genetically defective creatures. Such people are the main problem; such people are not capable of peaceful solutions whatsoever.
The US MUST be forced to do the right thing or else it will just keep on doing things the absolute wrong way. It seems that Russia understands this.
The UN investigators are due to present their findings about the August 21st chemical attack in Damascus today. Hopefully the report has not been doctored up to falsely implicate the Syrian government.
But one thing stands out about this chemical attack:
It is very suspect that from the beginning the US has put the blame for the CW attacks on the Syrian government.
The US purports to have "overwhelming" evidence to back up their accusations, but refuses to share it. Then the US turns around and tells the UN that the CW inspectors mandate must be limited only to determining if, and what type of chemical weapons were used, but not investigating WHO used them.
Surely if the US government is telling the truth and their evidence is full-proof, they would be very eager for the UN investigators to find out WHO used them.
But Bashar Al Assad and the Syrian government are to blame for one thing.
A year or more ago, the US decided to use any use of CW by Syria as a “red line,” that if crossed, would invite a military response.
At around the same time, the rebels said they have access to chemical weapons and threatened to use them.
The Syrian government should have immediately seen the writing on the wall and quickly moved to get rid of these chemical weapons with Russian and UN cooperation, before their presence in Syrian arsenals was exploited by the rebels and their sponsors to launch false-flag attacks.
The Syrian authorities should of realized back then that if any chemical weapons went off, Syria would be blamed, and calls for military intervention would follow from the US and their cohorts.
Plus, since the Syrian military has been able to beat back the rebels using conventional means, the chemical weapons were an unnecessary political and strategic liability.
It is therefore imperative that Russia not let the US and its allies use any pending UN resolution as an excuse for war.
Threats of military force must not be allowed in any UN resolutions or else the US and their pals will seek to corrupt and ruin the disarmament process in order to create an excuse to attack Syria.
Syria’s CW disarmament process cannot be turned into another never-ending Iraq inspections fiasco which only serves the interests of the CIA and Mossad and in the end is used as a catalyst for war by the criminal US regime.
