The recent riots in Washington, DC provoked by Trump’s election fraud conspiracy stories have resulted in 4 deaths, and serious breach of public order and security.
It has also embarrassed the US in the eyes of the international community.
In the wake of Trump’s minions storming the capitol bldg., world leaders, as well as politicians from the Republican party, and even Trump’s allies have condemned him for what has happened.
Already, some of his cabinet members have quit in protest.
Let’s bottom line it: Trump is solely responsible for the degenerate mess that the US has been in since the beginning of last year.
Not only did he deal poorly and tactlessly with mass public anger in the wake of the killing of George Floyd, which led to the protests spiraling out of control, but he also worked up his die-hard supporters with election fraud lies and drama since before the election even happened; the result being more chaos, injury and deaths.
Every congress critter that supported Trump’s election loss temper tantrums must either be dismissed, or wear a clown outfit at work for the rest of their terms.
Trump has seriously miscalculated and caused a huge mess. He needs to be immediately impeached, if for no other reason than to prevent him from making a worse mess somewhere during his last few weeks in office. Having provoked a serious riot that led to deaths, he will be scrambling to blame someone, and divert attention from himself. He may even start a war.
It is a very dangerous situation.
As for the troglodytes on the liberal side who are currently wailing and complaining about Trump’s violation of the sacred temple of democracy, and about him damaging cherished US democratic rights and norms, it must be asked: What democracy are they referring to?
The US is not, never has been, and wasn’t even designed to be a democracy.
The US electoral system is indeed corrupt, but not because of imaginary Russian or Chinese interference, or even because of Trump, or Biden.
Unfairness and fraud has been built-into it since the beginning, with the electoral college circus that over-rules the popular vote, and the huge sums of private money being pumped into every election.
The liberals act as if everything was good and right before Trump came along, and that it is only because of him that democracy and everything else has been falling apart.
The liberals and other deluded dreamers in the illusion of US democracy and goodness, always seem to compartmentalize and separate anything and anyone which interferes with their idealized, romantic, and benevolent view of what they have been told the US is in school.
When a congress critter or a president does something awful, like starting a war based on lies, a war which is supported and cheered on by the vast majority of the government, they are viewed by some as aberrations, as violators of the goodness of the US. Even after decades of constant and consistent war-mongering and corruption by the same two parties operating under the same laws, there are still those who compartmentalize and separate these misfits into another category, removed from the goodness that they think is the US.
The liberals and other deluded fools refuse to entertain the notion that the US is inherently flawed, and that its foundations are not as pure as they seem, and that the corruption, wars, lies, and shortcomings are not one-offs, or the fault of just one particular group or party, but made possible by a bad system that isn't working and needs change.
These same problems were here before Trump. The ugly reality of what the US is underneath the pretty democratic veneer has been carefully hidden, until Trump came along.
What Trump did was tear off that fake mask of benevolent US democracy for all to see the terrible and depressing reality beneath it. And it seems like some people are having a psychologically hard time coming to terms with it.
Biden won’t be able to fix any of this. All that he will do is try to put that fake mask of benevolence back on and pretend nothing happened. But this won’t work. The world has gotten a good, long glimpse behind the veil, and it doesn’t like what it sees.
Biden will most likely be a worse president than Trump, but his failures will be worse as well. He will be unable to redeem the US, or to restore US global power to what it was.
These riots in the US capitol bldg. are giving people in the US a dose of the same poison that the US has been feeding people elsewhere, in places like Ukraine, Belarus, Hong Kong, Serbia and Iran in the last few decades.
After everything that has happened in the last 4 years, the US has lost the right to criticize any other country’s level of democracy, human rights, and elections.
The US must fix itself first before it tells anyone else what to do.
The US desperately needs a constitutional convention, look at the entire constitution from top to bottom, and revamp the whole thing. It’s been 245 years, so it’s definitely time for changes to be made.
An old constitution is like an old car. You may be used to it, and like it; but if it's broken, it either needs to be rebuilt with better parts, or junked and replaced.
Clinging to an outdated and stale constitution that doesn't work that well anymore (recent events prove that it doesn’t) is not normal and pragmatic. And don’t talk about tradition here. There is nothing admirable about clinging to something that doesn’t work just because it has been around for a long time. It’s just odd and weird.
The US likes to criticize other nations political and economic systems, and how much they need to be reformed, but it is the US-above any other nation today-that needs the most change.
