Manifesto of the Political Insurgent

1.    The present political system in the United States has become corrupt and broken. It no longer represents the best interests of the people. To survive, this system keeps only a bare minimum percentage of the US population minimally content so as to prevent any serious challenge to the system.

2.    The ‘free-market’ philosophy preached by the United States has failed as can be seen by the present economic crisis.

3.    Direct participative democracy in the United States is anemic. It must be about much more than just going out and voting when told to do so. Demand local, statewide and national referendums on vital issues!

4.    The Democrats and Republicans are unable to govern the United States in a prudent, just and competent manner.

5.    Those who take either the Republican or Democratic side are misguided. These two parties are not capable of helping the average working American.

6.    The US has morphed into a plutocracy governed by two different sides of the same business party.

7.    Elections have been turned into popularity contests where the person with the most money wins.

8.    True capitalism has been twisted into a fraudulent debt-ridden system where speculation and selling has replaced manufacturing and the value of work.

9.    The US should be a Constitutional Republic, not a ‘leader of the world.’  Those who aspire to ‘lead the world’ are called IMPERIALISTS!

10.    Interference in other countries internal affairs is wrong and a violation of their sovereignty.

11.    Wars should only be fought in legitimate self-defense after all peaceful options have been truly exhausted, and this means defending one’s soil on one’s soil, not thousands of miles away from the nation’s shores.

12.    Provoking conflicts for any reason by employing threats and deceit will end in failure and shame for those who initiate them.

13.    Colonization and occupation of other countries is illegal.

14.    Resisting the forces of colonization and occupation is always just and right. The responsibility for any and all resulting violence, injury and death always lies with the colonizer and occupier, not the resistance.

15.    Worldwide, independent technological initiative is being strangled by special-interests who want to keep people dependent on their goods and services and therefore make people easier to control. (i.e. oil companies)

16.    The bible is not a science book and does not belong in public school classrooms. Government cannot fund religious institutions of any kind. If parents want their kids to study religious texts and pray in school, they can send them to a parochial one.

17.    The United States is a secular republic, not a ‘Christian nation.’ There is no directive in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution or the Bill of Rights mandating that the United States be officially Christian. The words ‘Jesus’ and ‘Christian’ do not appear anywhere in these three important documents.

18.    Americans must learn to curb their spending habits, live within their means and stop relying on credit to purchase things they do not really need or cannot afford.

19.    The educational system in the United States has been deliberately dumbed down. It teaches people to be obedient workers, not critical thinkers.

20.    The United States is not the best at everything. There are some things in other countries that are done better.

21. Being pro-choice is not synonymous with being pro-abortion. I don’t think that there is anyone out there that is truly pro-abortion. Let’s face it: abortion is a sad and traumatic practice. Nevertheless, it is up to the woman to freely choose whether she wants an abortion or not. But whatever choice a woman ends up making, the consequences of her decision, no matter how unpleasant, are hers to bear. No one else can be held responsible.
