The popular notion prevailing in US history is that the ‘right side’ won the civil war.
All sort of puffery and victor’s history has grown around this conflict. That it was fought to free the slaves, that the Union victory proved that the Confederacy had no legal basis, ending with the verdict that the country was somehow better off afterwards.
These are all lies, myths, and romantic kitsch that ignores reality and consequence; as any history written by the victors tends to be.
Judging by the 155 years of history since 1865, this verdict is, at best, questionable.
We today have the benefit of reflection based on a long historical record since 1865, something those who fought, died or survived the war did not have.
We can look at a century-and-a-half of events and see how the victory of the Union in the Civil War has affected US behavior. And the facts are not as rosy as those who proclaimed their ‘victory’ made it appear.
The victors, as well as many US politicians and citizens up to today, reached the wrong conclusions and assumptions about the civil war.
These on-going conclusions and assumptions must be debunked.
First, war does not solve problems. It creates new ones, or at best appears to end them in the eyes of the deluded victors only. The US has continued to reach these same incorrect assumptions and conclusions with all its wars up to the present.
The old Southern slave-owning aristocracy gave way to a new, and a much more malign banker/industrialist aristocracy which created a new and more insidious kind of slavery: debt slavery.
This new aristocracy of vermin like J.P. Morgan, Samuel Chase, and John D. Rockefeller created new and worse problems, and the legacy of their rotten ideas and behavior still plague the country, and the world, to this day.
These civil war-spawned banksters bought their way out of having to fight in the war, and made their fortunes on the war by way of government contracts. J.P. Morgan started his fortune by selling defective rifles to the US government. Other ‘captains of industry’ made their fortunes along the same crooked lines.
The civil war introduced some very bad ideas into US politics, governance and economics. Government contracts for shoddy equipment at exorbitant prices, war crimes, erosion of constitutional and political rights, war profiteering, the Federal Reserve, permanent income taxes, periodic man-made economic crises, incorrect notion that war can solve national and international problems, disregard for, and suppression of, the self-determination of others by violent force are just some of the viruses that the civil war bred within the US political, social and economic psyche. Abraham Lincoln made possible all this aberrant and destructive behavior for the next 155 years, up to today.
The Union victory unleashed upon the world people and events that would’ve never existed and bothered the US or anyone else, if the Confederacy was left alone. From that Union victory ran a long chain of abuses and disasters-wars, economic depressions, and social unrest that culminated in the financial crisis of 2008.
Lincoln wanted to unite the US and the Confederacy by force, but he ended up destroying two nations. He inadvertently, and through profound ignorance laid the framework for future problems and grave mistakes by successive US elected officials, and handed over the ‘united’ nation into the hands of some of the most greasiest and conniving con-men, fanatics, and zealots whose acolytes and progeny are mismanaging the US to this day.
The end that Lincoln got was the best and kindest one that could’ve been given to him, considering the destruction he has wrought for future generations all over the world. He deserved far worse for his colossal sins.
The man was a disaster for the US. He was the Bill Clinton, Barack Obama and Donald Trump of his day. He displayed the same opportunism, hypocrisy, and reckless stubbornness of all three.
The union victory in the civil war led directly to later excesses and crimes of the US in places all over the world.
All the regime changes, meddling in other nations affairs, wars based on false flags and lies, interventions, support of cruel regimes, crimes against humanity in Afghanistan, Iraq, Yugoslavia and elsewhere, current deliberate sanctions and economic terrorism against Iran and Venezuela, sanctions that are starving people and creating more victims in the wake of the COVID19 virus; all this foul behavior had its genesis during the Civil War, and has been rationalized and weaponized by the ‘victors.’
The war against the South was a war of aggression. Because even though the Southern states insistence on keeping the misguided and unnecessary institution of slavery alive for themselves was one of the main reasons for their secession, it was nevertheless a violation of their rights to force them to give their slaves up.
During the American Revolution, the Southern states approved the US Constitution and joined the Union only after they were guaranteed their political and property rights, including their ownership of slaves. This was the deal under which they agreed to be a part of the Union in the first place.
By threatening to make slavery illegal, and thereby interfering with their property rights and livelihood, the Federal government violated this deal. So the Southern states had the right under the constitution to secede. Their reasoning had legal weight, if not a moral one. But the Federal government has never been concerned with morals.
As far as the institution of slavery goes, it was a stupid idea in the first place to bring native Africans to North America. It was a damnable mistake of epic proportions which created serious and unnecessary problems for the US up to today.
Those who pontificate about the civil war being fought to ‘free the slaves’ are just fools regurgitating old and stale feel-good Union propaganda of that time.
No. The civil war was not fought to free the slaves. It was fought to unite, by force and violence, a part of North America that wanted to go its own way.
The Emancipation Proclamation only applied to slaves in the South, and Lincoln himself only announced it as a propaganda ploy to strategically undermine and weaken the Confederacy, hoping that the slaves would rebel and fight for the Union side. The long-term welfare of the blacks was not considered.
There is no greater proof of this than Union soldiers who deserted after they found out that they were fighting and dying to ‘free niggers.’ That is not what they signed up for.
If the Confederacy was left alone, slavery within it would eventually disappear as the 20th century neared, as it would become a national embarrassment. Simple farm automation would've rendered slavery inefficient and unnecessary. The problem would be handled one way or another, without millions of dead.
The civil war formally ended slavery a little earlier at best, but it did not make the lives of the ex-slaves any better afterwards. Racism and discrimination against them continued. And they no longer had the protection of their masters, as shitty as slave life was.
The civil war was a destructive war that did not have to be fought. The Confederacy did not start it. The Confederacy was simply interested in secession and being left alone to carry on its own affairs. It on multiple occasions offered the Union an end to hostilities, if the Union recognized it and pulled back its troops. The Confederacy hoped that there would be a mediated settlement, and even hoped that a defeat of Lincoln in the election of 1864 would bring to power someone who would be willing to negotiate an end to the war and a peaceful co-existence between the two countries.
The Confederacy did not aim to take over the entire US, and overthrow its government.
The name civil war is a misnomer. It wasn’t really a civil war, and it wasn’t a rebellion. It was separation, and the Southerners were separatists.
This Southern desire for independence was suppressed by the Union forces, which went on to erode constitutional rights, and after the war proclaimed that secession is now ‘illegal,’ a premise that itself is a violation of the constitution.
So much for the Constitution being a ‘living’ document. Far from it, this living document was seriously wounded in 1865 by the ‘victors’ who purported to be its most valiant defenders. Those who followed them administered further stabs.
As for the Southerners, they to this day feel a sense of defeat. This has not yet gone away from their minds.
So how do they offset this shame?
By joining the US military forces, the same US military force which destroyed their ancestors home and country, and which deploys them to all corners of the world, killing and terrorizing natives in their beds.
No amount of waving the flag, and bombing Iraqis, Afghans and others will ever erase the loss of their ancestors country, and make up for it.
By joining the US military, Southerners have spat on the graves of their ancestors, and have cast their lot with the very Union monsters who terrorized their great-great grandfathers and grandmothers 155 or so years ago; and in the same manner as they are now terrorizing people thousands of miles away. That it was all ‘a long time ago’ is no excuse, and never, ever will be!
The legacy of the civil war is one of violated constitutional rights, mass-murder, a ‘might makes right’ victor’s mentality and incorrect lessons learned, and the beginning of rampant and destructive US militarism in the West and abroad for the next 155 years.
The demonic skills and inventions learned by the Union side during that war were used against the Indians in the west with horrible effect, and against countless millions everywhere else in the world since.
This same mistake was repeated by the foolhardy Winston Churchill in the 1940s when he decided to engage in war everywhere against the Germans to ‘save’ the British Empire. But his stubbornness had the opposite result. Churchill won his war, but lost the empire.
The civil war should not be celebrated and romanticized. It was a disgusting, needless blood-bath of wanton destruction. The only ones who revel in its legacy are the interventionists and war-mongers who see in it a warped justification for profit and domination of others.
When one looks at the bombed-out and burnt ruins of Atlanta, GA and Columbia, SC after Gen. 'Tecumseh' Sherman laid both cities to waste on his marches, one can see the ruins of Fallujah, Baghdad, and many other cities destroyed by US military airstrikes. The excuses, rationalizations and propaganda is all too similar, too. It seems US citizens have forgotten how it is to have your country destroyed and left to fend for itself.
Does it need a reminder?

Bio-Warfare?
The world has been gripped by the COVID19 ‘Coronavirus’ outbreak early this year, with stores, venues, cities, and entire countries being shuttered to contain the outbreak.
But when taking into consideration where it started, Wuhan China, which is the country’s main logistics and transportation hub, it looks like the work of someone who may not like the growth of China’s economic and military power.
The US tops the list here.
Also, Iran has been hard-hit by this virus.
So we have two thorns in the US back-side hit with a malignant virus that is causing the deaths of civilians and politicians.
The US is being tight-lipped about its so-called ‘patient zero,’ the first person infected with the virus in the US. How, and when this person got infected, as well as their identity remain a secret.
It is not absurd to think that the US may have launched this virus covertly in China in order to cripple the country’s economy and cause political and social unrest.
The US has been trying to knock down China’s growing power using all sorts of means, sanctions, blockades and tariffs; but to no avail. China is too big to knock over, so the US is desperate.
Those who think that this is nonsense because the US regime would not risk infecting its own, do you really think the US regime cares?
It does not matter to them how many people die. It does not matter to them if 2, 200, 2,000, or 200,000 US citizens die. If the US can achieve a major geopolitical victory over some adversary out there by deploying a virus, then the US regime will do so. The ends justify the means. For them, it’s like investing a couple of thousand dollars and getting a couple of million back.
This virus outbreak, and the fear associated with it, is also a great opportunity for scumbags and con-men of every stripe and color to make off like bandits.
We should not be the least bit surprised that after this CV outbreak settles and goes away, that we find that things have changed. Expect loss of rights, privileges, MONEY, and the realization that the rich somehow got much richer, and the poor got much poorer. The great theft is all going on right now, as this is being written, and no one is paying attention because they’re too busy hunting down hand sanitizers and face masks.
Such public health emergencies are a great opportunity for unscrupulous people to get away with all sorts of crap.
Someone once said, don't let a good crisis go to waste.
It is also a golden opportunity for economies struggling with massive, un-payable debt (like the US) to go into an economic meltdown and fleece the public once again. But this time, they don’t have to worry about angry mobs descending on Wall St. in protest, as the CV19 outbreak will justify the economic downturn and dampen any and all tempers.
The situation is much more dangerous now than it was 10 years ago during the economic crisis. As the threat of disease keeps people scared, emotionally drained, and distracted, their defenses will be down. They will not see the forest for the trees. This creates the prefect opportunity for a much worse economic reckoning.
And this may be the chief reason for this so-called ‘CV19 outbreak.' Another global economic crisis was on the horizon, but if it happened normally, without a convenient excuse, then people would riot and possibly worse. The powers-that-be were too worried that they might find themselves out of power and out of luck. So they cooked up a distraction that will justify everything they do, and everything that happens. And the people will accept it, and love the authorities for ‘protecting’ them.
After all, many more people die of the regular flu each year. Ebola has been a constant threat for decades, and is much deadlier than CV19. More people die of common infections each year than have died from CV19.
CV19 isn’t really all that deadly. Those most susceptible to dying from it are people with pre-existing conditions and ailments, and old people. The young and healthy recover. Most people who were infected and quarantined have recovered. The virus has claimed very little lives; in the single digit percentage.
If this outbreak isn't tamed by the end of May, then many countries will undoubtedly suffer significant economic losses due to suspended business activity, trade, and tourism. Italy will be on the hardest hit, but others will be, too.
It remains to be seen what happens in the coming weeks and months, but everyone should watch what’s going on in the world, and not just be distracted by the CV19 outbreak. Because governments and shady characters may be doing even more damage to you than this virus ever could.
